Useless Nations

Just another reason why the UN (United Nations) is absolutely worthless. Forget the myriad of past reasons why nothing out of the UN should be taken seriously. Forget its idiotic stance on climate change, its inability to coordinate even the most rudimentary assistance operations anywhere in the world. Forget the genocidal lunatics who've headed the council on human rights. This little gem is all you ever need to know about the Useless Nations....

"On Jan. 1, 2010, Hezbollah and its de-facto ruler Iran could have a direct line to the Security Council and gain access to all the confidential information to which Security Council members are privy.......In October the U.N. General Assembly overwhelmingly voted for Lebanon to be the Asian bloc's new non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council for a 2-year term.....Critics worry that the Lebanese will essentially be sitting on the Security Council while ignoring Security Council resolutions that call for the disarming of armed militias, in other words Hezbollah."

Yeah It's a Chain-Mail, But It's Still Funny

Obama is the shepherd I did not want
He leadeth me beside the still factories.
He restoreth my faith in the Republican party.
He guideth me in the path of unemployment for his party's sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the bread line, I shall
fear no hunger, for his bailouts are with me.
He has anointed my income with taxes, My expenses runneth over.
Surely, poverty and hard living will follow me all the days of my
life, And I will live in a mortgaged home forever.
I am glad I am American,
I am glad that I am free
But I wish I was a dog ...

And Obama was a tree.

Democrats Propose "War Tax" to Fund Afghan Campaign

Democratic leaders, openly voicing their dissent to sending more troops to the Afghan theater have proposed another tax to fund the effort. Liberal Representative Dave Obey (D-Wisc), chairman of the House Appropriations Committee:

"If we have to pay for the health care bill, we should pay for the war as well," Obey told ABC News in an interview, "by having a war surtax."

The democratic proposal is to institute a graduated income tax on people earning more than $200,000/yr. In a related note, citizens who make over $200,000/yr now live in districts overwhelming represented by democrats, meaning that the same folks who voted for the democrats and oppose the Afghan war now find themselves in the position of having to pay extra to fund the Afghan war.

You have to give it up to the libs. When it comes to bitter irony, there is none higher.
