This Is More Likely Than Not going To Happen

"Iran: Israel's threats inexplicable Iran's ambassador to UN demands Security Council take steps against comments made by Ephraim Sneh, who said Israel would attack Iran if sanctions weren't in place by Christmas...He was referring to an interview given by former Deputy Defense Minister Ephraim Sneh to the Sunday Times in which he said that if Iran were not further sanctioned by this Christmas Israel would attack the country. "

Look, I don't want to sound like an alarmist, a conspiracy nut, or a warmonger. However, the reality is, Iran will not stop working towards obtaining nukes and Israel will end up striking Iran. This will probably throw us into a 3rd world war to some degree. I don't know that it will truly be a global conflict on the scale of WWII or a more localized conflict on the scale of WWI.
My best guess has Obama trying to get some kind concessions from Iran that will allow the islamo-fascists to save face while placating the Israelis enough to keep them from striking. This isn't going to work. It won't stop Iran from trying to obtain nukes, it won't stop Russia, China, or any other anti-western country from helping Iran obtain them.
The best thing that could happen would be for a successful popular revolt in Iran that overthrows the islamo-fascists and establishes a truly free society. I know most of the Iranian people aren't islamo-fascists. But their leaders are and they will bear the brunt of the carnage if they do not act. This will force the Israelis to act and they won't distinguish the Iranian leadership from the people.

Only time will tell if I'm right or wrong, and to what degree. Ufortunately there isn't much time until we find out.

Hopefully Only The Domestic Model And Not The Military Model

I used to make the domestic Hummer Class-A body Panels. They were a pain in the ass. They didn't make the military version in the same plant. Outsourcing the domestic Hummer brand isn't really a big deal, except to the poor bastards in Shrevport Louisiana where the vehicle was assembled. Exporting the military version would be a whole different matter.

"Tuesday, GM struck a tentative deal to sell its Hummer brand to a Chinese manufacturer, while also revealing that it has potential buyers for its Saturn and Saab brands. The brand would go to Sichuan Tengzhong Heavy Industrial Machinery Co. of China, said a person briefed on the deal."

Like I always said......

Obama won the Nobel peace prize? Pfffffttttttt It's like I always say: EVERYTHING is politics.
I'd wager that this is more Europe playing kiss up to Obama for the Olympics than his really earning it. What has he done? Nothing accomplished. The majority of what he has done, to the chagrin of his supporters, has been extending former President Bush's policies.

Let this be another lesson to us all. NOTHING out of Europe can be trusted.

[Edit: in the interest of not being a completely partisan hack, I'm going to post part of what Obama said that I think is right on the money.

"I do not view it as a recognition of my own accomplishments but rather an affirmation of American leadership," he said...."

If I were him, I probably would have said the same thing, and then left it at that.]

Why Aren't We Seeing This on The Nightly News?

John Gebhardt's wife, Mindy, said that this little girl's entire family was executed. The insurgents intended to execute the little girl also, and shot her in the head...but they failed to kill her. She was cared for in John's hospital and is healing up, but continues to cry and moan. The nurses said John is the only one who seems to calm her down, so John has spent the last four nights holding her while they both slept in that chair. The girl is coming along with her healing.

He is a real Star of the war, and represents what
America is trying to do.

This, my friends, is worth sharing. Go for it!! You'll never see things like this in the news. Please keep this going. Nothing will happen if you don't, but the American public needs to see pictures like this and needs to realize that what we're doing over there is making a difference. Even if it is just one little girl at a time.

Why I Love This Time Of Year.

It's been pouring rain off and on all day up here. That's not something I usually enjoy. It reeks havoc on by my joints and generally creates a miserable situation.
Tonight the rain has been accompanied by the most tremendous wind gusts. Sitting here next to the open window, the wind sounds like a roaring tide. The heavy blackness of nightfall adds to the illusion.
There was a real temptation tonight to write at length about Detroit, and the lines of people waiting to get free stimulus money. But the wind changed my mind. Changed my whole mood actually. It's hard to get worked up over things when you're entranced by the siren's song of Michigan's fall weather.

FFS People, It's NOT A Democracy

Watching ACORN's CEO, Bertha Lewis, attempting to defend the organization. In the course of her mostly incoherent rambling she said something that I have heard people say repeatedly.

"......well if this isn't what a democracy is, maybe I outta check my definition of what a democracy really is..."

Alright everyone. Let's do this one together. On the count of three:

America isn't a democracy, it is a Republic. America has never been a democracy, ever. In a democracy the majority rules, which is mob rule. In a Republic, the law rules, which ensures equality and justice for all.

The difference isn't just a matter of semantics. In a democracy, if 51 people want you dead and 49 want you to live, you're toast. In a Republic, you get the protections of the law, which ensure the right to a speedy trial by your peers.
Now it's true that a Republic isn't a perfect. "It's a system created by man, and as man is imperfect, so are his creations." (hat tip to Levin). But it's a far better system than any other we've come up with so far.

God Willing I'll Find Myself There After Graduation

"On October 1st 2009 U.S. Cyber Command (CYBERCOM) became a reality. With high expectations and very little fanfare the efforts led by U.S. Strategic Command began to protect the nation from cyber command initiation efforts to date required the reorganization of 40,000 job positions. An additional 1,000 new jobs are scheduled to be added to cyber command in the not so distant future......"

This is where I hope to find myself after graduation next year. That is, in the civilian arm of the cyber defense program. Maybe with the DoD or Homeland Security. This people, is how the majority of conflicts will be waged for the next several decades. Economic wars, terrorist attacks, political leverage, all of it and more can be attained by having the upper hand in the cyber realm.
Every single aspect of our lives is tied into cyber information systems. From the civilian electrical grid to medical records to military secrets and operations. Everything is contained and thus attainable there.
It's good to see that the U.S of A has finally stepped up and started to take some concrete logistical action in the organization of a coherent, tangible cyber defense apparatus. Here's to global domination, one byte at a time.....

Old Tyme Political Cartoons

I finally figured out how to embed videos which should greatly improve the quality of this blog. I found these old political cartoons and figured they'd be a good place to start. Now, if I could just get people to view this damn thing.....
